Cannibal restaurant in Nigeria shut
Menu featured 'Roasted Human Head'
A hotel restaurant in Nigeria has been closed down after police discovered it was serving human flesh to its customers as an expensive delicacy. Authorities claimed one of the items available was ‘Roasted Human Head’.
Acting on a series of tip-offs from local residents, police raided the venue and found at least two human heads wrapped in cellophane, along with guns and a hoard of mobile phones. Five men and six women have been arrested.
Speaking to a local paper, a market trader said: “I always noticed funny movements in and out of the hotel; dirty people with dirty characters always come into the hotel, so I was not surprised when police made this discovery.”
The hotel, which has not been named, is located in Onitsha in the south-western state of Anambra.
A local pastor said: “I went to the hotel earlier this year. After eating, I was told that a lump of meat was being sold at N700. I was surprised and did not know that it was human meat that I ate at such an expensive price.
“What is this country turning into? Can you imagine people selling human flesh as meat? Seriously, I’m beginning to fear people in this part of the world.”
